We create healthcare spaces for hospitals

Approach

How can building technology create added value in hospital projects and become a real enabling technology?

The basis for precise hospital engineering: the operating and hygiene concept

The larger the project, the more important the basics. Broad-based operating and hygiene concepts enable clever engineering in hospital projects, for new builds or conversions. On this basis, we develop the building technology as enabling technology. Developed as unobtrusively as possible, precisely tailored to the intended use - this enables us to reduce the time between the start of planning, the start of construction and the start of operations to a minimum.

Reach your goal faster with lean

For a new 200 million hospital building, which we are currently planning, a multitude of interests, perspectives and approaches come together. This dynamic requires a continuous reduction in complexity. To this end, we meet once a week in the planning team with representatives of the hospital for a 6-week planning session at the whiteboard. The visualization, the systematic review and outlook and the weekly process optimization create transparency. Together, we shorten the phase throughput times.

Keeping an eye on operations

Building a hospital requires considerable investment - but the real costs arise during operation. Personnel costs, energy consumption and technical infrastructure determine profitability in the long term. This is precisely where our engineering comes in: We think about operations and everyday life right from the start. Interdisciplinary planning and a sound understanding of processes open up optimization potential that reduces costs and increases quality. The result is a building that can not only be built, but also operated sustainably.

Our healthcare talents
Gregor Jeker started at Willers in Rheinfelden in 2018 as a freshly graduated Bachelor's student, and went on to complete a part-time Master of Science in Engineering at the HSLU and an ETH CAS in Innovation Management. Today, he is team leader for hospital projects and is in charge of the 250 million new hospital building in Biel-Brügg, among other things.

Successful competition for new Biel hospital building
As a team of Steiger Concept and fsp Architekten, we won the competition for the new acute hospital in Biel-Brügg. The team is currently in the project planning phase for the new 30,000 m² building.

BIM in hospitals - how can smart operation succeed?
In the CAS "Strategic Hospital Construction Planning" at the HSLU, we get to the bottom of this question in a guest lecture. Why is BIM already crucial in strategic planning, what basics are needed and how do we transfer the information to operations?

SERVICES

With interdisciplinary teams of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists, we develop rooms and technology for modern hospitals.

Economical, sustainable and productive: modern building technology creates inspiring environments.

We support hospitals and healthcare clients in the introduction and application of the BIM method across all project phases - from strategic consulting and integral planning to digital handover for operations and facility management. We also set up the necessary systems, such as a CAFM or the client CDE.

As a partner in laboratory planning, we take responsibility - from the initial idea to the functioning laboratory operation. Our goal: solutions that are convincing in everyday life and last in the long term.

As general planners, we bear overall responsibility for complex construction projects - from technical planning to execution. We coordinate all trades and ensure quality, deadlines and costs.

We advise on all aspects of energy and building technology. Sometimes as technical experts, sometimes as project managers for major investments.

Efficient and sustainable hospital operations require smart solutions. We ensure the development of localization systems, navigation solutions and IoT applications and provide the necessary interfaces between the applications.

BIM2FM - fully digital facility management for efficient hospital operations

Updating, synchronization, and integration of CAFM
With the use of the necessary applications, continuous change management among the workforce and the digital data from the construction project, a future-oriented digital twin platform is being created for operations.
