As a qualified HVAC engineer, Adi started his career at Elektrowatt Engineering AG in Zurich and also worked in Asia for two years. After further studies in economics and architecture, Adi built up the building technology and overall planning division as co-owner of Amstein+Walthert AG. During his time in management, Amstein+Walthert AG developed from an SME into one of the largest Swiss planning companies.
Since 2015, he has headed the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Building Technologies and the Institute for Building Technology and Energy at the HSLU. Adi is currently active on various boards of directors, such as Belimo Holding AG and Energie Wasser Bern, as well as on advisory boards at ETH Zurich. Adi has also been advancing our industry for many years in various association activities. He was Vice President of the SIA (Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects) from 2009 to 2022 and has been President of the SNV (Swiss Association for Standardization) since 2021.
Adi enjoys discovering foreign cultures and faraway countries. But he also enjoys the rural idyll of his home in Thurgau and, as a “homesick Zurich resident”, he is always fascinated by the diversity of the “little big city” of Zurich.
