The methodology used is and remains very demanding on both a technical and communicative level. But the collaboration itself, as a truly lived interdisciplinary project team, is the essential prerequisite for overcoming the existing hurdles and closing existing gaps. This was achieved at a high level in the Atmos project. In addition to the successful completion of the project, the methodology helped the client to learn important lessons with a focus on the economic consideration of a property over its entire life cycle.

How do you create a flexible building concept that also sets economic and ecological standards?
In order to be able to react flexibly to the requirements of the users, the client demanded maximum flexibility and modularity in the room design as well as the development of numerous variants. The consistent use of BIM should ensure that a wide range of options for the subsequent use of the space can be efficiently modeled.

The consistent application of the BIM method ensures that all installations are optimally coordinated and costs are saved.
As the specialist coordinator, we were responsible for coordinating and merging all the trade models from the various specialist planners. With the help of BIM, we ensured that the installations were optimally coordinated and that there were no collisions during execution, resulting in higher construction costs. We created a BIM room in our office specifically for this purpose for virtual inspections of the building sections. Through numerous optimizations with the help of the model, we were able to reduce the costs by up to 40% compared to the rough cost estimate without sacrificing user comfort. The tenants ON AG and Barry Callebaut AG are enthusiastic about the flexible concept and the possibilities. We received the BIM Arc Award for the project.
