A global pharmaceutical company needs new cleanrooms to meet growing regulatory requirements. Eight cleanroom cabins in the production and logistics building in Aargau are being replaced with state-of-the-art equipment.

How can cleanrooms be replaced smoothly without disrupting ongoing production?

Two cabins are to be dismantled and rebuilt at a time, while the rest of the 4,000 m2 cleanroom area remains in operation. This made the planning particularly challenging. It required sophisticated construction site logistics and many enclosures and temporary solutions. Together with the company, we are looking for good solutions that enable the tradesmen and ourselves to build and operate during normal working hours wherever possible. However, if it is operationally necessary, we are also on duty at night and at weekends.

Complex overall planning over a period of 1.5 years enabled the smooth renovation of the cleanrooms over the following two years. Particularly in complex projects such as construction during ongoing production, coordination with operations and those responsible for quality is just as important as the seamless interaction of all the trades involved.
