challenges
At present, it is not possible to directly edit ifc models created from the native format without incurring high losses of quality and information. Therefore, a central element of the hospital's life cycle is updating the native models in Revit format.
challenges
The various pSets and their attributes in the native format do not necessarily have the same names as the attributes in the ifc export. Mutual mapping is therefore necessary in all cases, both when exporting to ifc and when exporting from the client's CDE at a later date.
SOLUTIONS
As the models are used by various systems during operation (e.g. CAFM, navigation, Track&Trace), these models must be updated cyclically. An export of all changed parameters from operation (e.g. due to adjustments to components or repairs that are stored in CAFM) is provided from the client's CDE Libal, including the necessary attribute name mapping. The developed plugin imports the modified data into the native Revit format so that only the geometries need to be updated later in the client's CDE using BCF issues. This creates an efficient process without duplicate information maintenance.
