Laboratory planning

Laboratories are spaces for ideas - places where innovation is born. With our laboratory planning, we design environments that promote research and provide space for the ideas of tomorrow.

Laboratories, whether in basic research or analytics, are dynamic, constantly evolving entities that not only follow technical and scientific progress, but define it.

beyond Engineering

Our laboratory planning combines the processes of future operations with agile, collaborative space solutions. In plain language: we synchronize the requirements of the researchers and lab technicians with the ideas and possibilities of the planning team.

How digital is the future of facility management?

12,800 trade visitors, 400 exhibitors - Ilmac 2025 in Basel showed where the journey is heading. Our contribution? An insight from our Chief Digital Officer Adrian Staudenmaier into digital twins that are already making life science facility management processes noticeably smarter.

How do you combine hydrofluoric acid and monument protection under one roof?

For the sediment laboratory at ETH Zurich, we planned hydrofluoric acid chapels in a listed building and implemented them as overall manager - an example of how experience and the art of engineering can make even complex laboratory environments possible.

How fast can planning really be?

Our laboratory planners work with a Revit toolbox that they developed themselves. Libraries, variant studies and their own BIM scripts ensure that digital routine becomes real planning speed.

How do we create space for innovation?

We evaluated a new location in Basel for an international technology group and, as general planner, were responsible for the tenant fit-out of 4,000 m² of analytical laboratories - from feasibility to awarding the contract to a technical university. .

How are laboratory solutions created that make the difference in competition?

Architectural competitions for research and production buildings or biosafety laboratories show what counts: Laboratory planning, architecture and technology in dialog. This results in solutions that are precise, well thought-out and, in the end, simply better.

Our expertise

We don't just plan laboratories - we create working environments that combine research and technology. Efficiently designed, future-oriented.
As a partner in laboratory planning, we take responsibility - from the initial idea to the functioning laboratory operation. Our goal: solutions that are convincing in everyday life and last in the long term.

We plan utilization concepts, laboratory typologies, room concepts, functional and relationship schemes, develop layout studies and design room sequences.

With our experience in GMP compliance, qualification and validation, we bring new systems and upgrades safely to their destination.

All supply and disposal lines are planned by us: Data, electrical, gas, media and sanitary.

We plan and test all safety equipment. This includes emergency showers, gas monitoring and other alarm systems.

Laboratories in particular have strict specifications and tight limits. We ensure that they are all reliably adhered to: Media supply, air exchange rates, air conditioning, temperature and humidity.
