We take responsibility for our actions - towards our customers, our fellow human beings, the users of our buildings and our environment.
Our mission
Engineering for a better world
Our mission leads us to sustainable solutions for our customers and a future worth living. With curiosity, creative approaches and passion, we help shape our future project by project.
ZRH2, a data center campus that combines high-availability and secure infrastructure with a clear focus on energy efficiency and sustainability, was opened in mid-2024. For the 21,000 m² campus, we used BIM-supported planning to implement highly efficient cooling systems with chillers, closed water circuits and CRAH units. Redundant cooling circuits, optimized air routing and free cooling ensure that the IT capacity of 24 MW (final expansion) is supplied with maximum energy efficiency. In addition, heat pumps enable the recovery and use of waste heat for the building and its surroundings - a key element in reducing CO₂ emissions. As water use is also almost zero, this project fits in with the net-zero approach of the operator Vantage.
A new energy center is being built on the Irchel campus of the University of Zurich, which will replace the central heating and cooling supply as part of a cluster supply. The system forms an intelligent symbiosis between geothermal storage and buildings - with bidirectional storage management for maximum efficiency. With an extended test drilling (eTRT) and simulation-supported planning, we were able to significantly simplify the original concept and save 820 t COâ‚‚ during construction with these adjustments. Â
The realization of the four new buildings for the research center pRED (Pharma Research and Early Development) was awarded the Lean Construction Project Award of the GLCI in Frankfurt in 2022. We were jointly responsible for the TGA construction management and supported state-of-the-art technology, operational safety and energy efficiency. Since the handover, we have been evaluating the optimal operating points of the ventilation and air conditioning technology as an engineering partner, for which performance measurements of heat recovery and high-pressure humidification are carried out on-site in full operation to prove the high efficiency requirements.
In addition to a state-of-the-art building automation system, a smart hospital platform has also been set up at Zurich Children's Hospital. This can be used to locate devices in the building, show the occupancy of rooms and workstations and provide indoor navigation for visitors. These innovations increase efficiency in building management, improve patient satisfaction and ensure seamless, safe and sustainable care.
The new Dreiklang building is being planned and built entirely digitally using the BIM methodology. We have set up the CAFM and CDE systems for the cantonal hospital to ensure a seamless transfer of information from the construction project for efficient and digital building operation. The operations department has a complete digital twin of the building at its fingertips, fully integrated into all operating systems. As a result, not only were construction planning and execution efficient, but building operations also benefited from precise maintenance and rapid troubleshooting as well as sustainable and resource-efficient management of the building.
The new building in Bern will be one of the most sustainable and innovative office buildings when it is completed. With the aim of achieving the SNBS Platinum certificate (Swiss Sustainable Building Standard), a building was designed that meets the highest ecological standards. A seasonal storage facility with geothermal probes for heating and cooling requirements. The SNF project combines maximum sustainability with state-of-the-art digital construction expertise. The innovative BIM2Field method, the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) right through to the construction site, enabled end-to-end digital planning and execution. This facilitated coordination on site, increased the quality of execution and minimized interface problems.
